DESCRIPTION:
4.5 Bone Stars BookConsumer28 Marrow by Tarryn Fisher I really enjoyed. Marrow tells the story of Margo Moon who in the beginning of the book is a thirteen year old girl who lives with her mother who doesn't like talking to her, the only time to speaks to her is in the form of a command.A couple years go by and Margo is seventeen and her mom hasn't spoken to her in two years. How a mother can do that, I will never know. And since their relationship is like this and Margo's mother is a prostitute, Margo is on her own and has been for a while. And one day when a little girl Naveah goes missing, Margo is set out to find what happened to he. "In Blindness, Love Will Exhume You." WEB 4.5 stars. "I believe we ought fight for the hurting, open our eyes to suffering. Not just our own, but the suffering around us"(Fisher). That is exactly what Marrow will do for a reader. Its fictitious character, Margo, goes to extremes to embrace the above quotation, but the message is clear and true. Marrow also asks us to think about why "those who feel things" in such extremes are considered "broken" by society, a society that most often prefers the blind eye approach to life's atrocities. We watch the horrors on our televisions/laptops, but resign ourselves to a numbness toward it all. Margo does not. Cecily Bonney said There were times when I had to put the book down and run to my son's room and tell him that I loved him. I could never image hav. I will not lie to youI had a hard time reading this book.Everything this young girl went through will rip your heart apart. There were times when I had to put the book down and run to my son's room and tell him that I loved him.I could never image having a mother like hers. The emotional abuse that she had to endure.rips me up inside. Then when you are done with the book you read the authors notes and then you get the big picture.
