A great collection of *scholarly* *critical* work on the subject Tyrone Slothrop As anybody can tell from looking at the detailed table of contents and introduction, this is not an encyclopedia or an exhaustive survey, much less a picture book for leather fans or a homage to "Nazi aesthetics." It is a scholarly work on a particular genre of film ("Nazisploitation"--it's the title!) of a certain time (roughly 1968-1980) and its broader cultural effects and implications. The volume, which I purchased elsewhere, has insightful and critical articles by up-and-coming young. "Loved it!" according to tracy dobbins. This book is a great in-depth exploration of the genre! In these works, the violent Nazi becomes the hyperbolic caricature of the "monstrous feminine" or the masculine sadist. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, films such as Love Camp 7 and Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS introduced and reinforced the image of Nazis as master paradigms of evil in what film theorists deem the 'sleaze' film. Nazisploitation! examines past intersections of National Socialism and popular cinema and the recent reemergence of
