Outstanding This is one of the very best recent qualitative books: not just for TESOL, but TESOLers will appreciate the familiarity of the examples Richards uses. I've been recommending this to all my graduate students (MA/PhD) doing L2 educational research for years. It's accessible, substantive, nuanced, and very well written.
