DESCRIPTION:
Why the Hate? It's shocking for me to see all the hate directed at Mr. Kim. Why do these people hate him so much? It didn't make sense to me until I read the book. Mr. Kim is like Dr. Martin Luther King. He blazed the way for civil rights in the English context (particularly in academia). It's natural for people to hate someone who will try to reform a society -- especially if. "Wonderful Thoughts" according to John St. James. I appreciated this book because the idealism and vision are what we need for today. This book recounts an effort to help people. Many were engaged selflessly for this ideal. Along the way, they encountered institutional and political difficulties. But they still fought on. Reading this book made me believe again on the positive human spirit to take on injustice.
About the Author Kim is a Ph.D. . student in Hebrew, Jewish, and Early Christian Studies at the University of Cambridge
This book is more than a recounting of the valiant struggles of international students, particularly in light of the onerous $500 Visa Renewal Fee that the British New Labour government struck on international students while they were away for the summer vacation. Christian Kim's book points out the inadequacies of Cambridge University to deal with the influx of international students and their needs. It seems that Christian Kim desires nothing more than positive change for the benefit of international students. It would not be a surprise if this book becomes an important impetus for change in the United Kingdom. There are a lot of pictures in the book that make events come alive..
