One of his favorites! jazz lover My son has had this book for four years now and it is one of his favorites. He discovered it at the library and insisted he wanted his own copy. The interesting thing is that he already knew the alphabet. He is 8 now and fully reading - but he won't part with it because he loves the story. It is a testament to a really great book.. "Great for Kids!" according to A Customer. I think Doug Cushman's "The ABC Mystery" is a wonderful alphabet book. Don't let the ABC theme throw you, it is not just for preschoolers. Not only does it present the ABCs, it is a rhyming mystery story. Each line rhymes as the reader is "walked" through the alphabet to solve a cute little mystery. The beautifully done illustrations add to the mystery and help tell the story. But don't worry we won't tell you "who done it". "The first book I ever read" according to person. This book fostered a lifelong love of reading for me.Easy to understand, well-written, and colorful pictures make it a very memorable book.If you're considering buying a book for a young child, this would be my #1 suggestion.
