This adventure had a little different tone than the other novels, probably due to being in the USA, and there was less action throughout, but more investigation type suspense. However there was enough moments of intense action, that is painstakingly described so as to understand the true expertise and thinking of the character, as well as his usual wit. "Best "Victor" yet." according to redrock77. Crisp and clean, not bogged down with pap sentimentality or fleshing out with trite prose. Believable situations and resolution. Victor is larger than life, yet, not infallible. Can't wait to read the next one.
