It is not a day-by-day unit history, but rather a collection of memories of life within the unit, some great victories, too many sad losses, and an eternal bond that developed between these young Americans and the French officers that le. "Broad events no character detail" according to Gordon English. A good first hand account of the Lafayette escadrille and the broad events that surrounded it's history but unfortunately almost no individual character development or detail of the pilots who served.
