Are Mormons Christians? Reading this narrative makes it hard to think otherwise. This is the story of one typical missionary who served in Thailand during the 1973 Thai Revolution, while other Southeast Asian governments were collapsing following the U.S withdrawal from the Vietnam conflict. It is a process that is clearly worth living whether in the first person or vicariously through the chapters of this book.. 2 Years in God's Mormon Army aoyler Palfreyman captured the reality of a missionary experience. The excitement, the unknown and the faith that it takes to go across the world to teach a message of hope and love at such an inexperienced age. His story brings to life the 2 years that many of us have experienced and the hardship, spirituality, fun, humor and labor of love involved when serving in God's Mormon Army. Even if you are not familiar with this religion, the story provides a great journey through the eyes of a young man in an unfamiliar land. A very enjoyable reading experience.. Every day is an adventure in Thailandno doubt about it! ndraper Having read this book a few years after it was published, I recently acquired my own copy and re-read it. I personally know many of the people spoken of in the book. The book is very interesting to me having gone through this same experience in Thailand some 14 years after Elder Palfreyman's time. I can tell you that the experiences are amazingly similar to my own; only the locations within Thailand differ. The description of the people, the places and the daily life of LDS Missionary work in Thailand are spot on, and they also illustrate that very little had ch. Love this book! I read this book and when I finished, I had my 13 year old twin boys read it. We all loved the insight it gives into the life of a missionary as well as adventure stories about the fascinating place that is Thailand. I have recommended this book to lots of friends already, it is well written and interesting to read.
