Excellent read, with all the details. A must read for those new to this field. The author, Michael Newman is considered to be the grandfather of BACnet, after many years he has kept pace with the development of his original idea. There are few who can claim such an accomplishment. The book is an easy read for anyone with an interest in automation protocols and from an unbiased source.. Not very useful. I bought this book so I could understand and write code to the standard. However it does not provide much information about it. If you really want to know about the programming aspect, Buy a book on ASN.1 and the standard itself. This book would only be worth while if it was $20 or so.. "Excellent book that explains the concepts of BACnet very well" according to Amazon Customer. Excellent book that explains the concepts of BACnet very well. It is much simpler to read and follow than the standard, and covers all the important topics and concepts.
