DESCRIPTION:

S Ross said great introduction to the big bang and evolution. Few writers make the effort to present science as fun and interesting to young children. But Jacqui Bailey manages to present scientific information in a fun, entertaining way. This series has been an excellent introduction to the scientific principles of evolution and the big bang.I highly recommend it for children who express an interest in science. Even as young as 5 or 6, they can understand some of the basic concepts. We have been so thankful t. goonius said Perfect Introduction for Kindergarten/Early Elementary Children. I was a little skeptical about this book after reading the School Library Review that states, "With slang expressions and onomatopoeia such as "yep," "phew," "splat," "whoosh," "woweee," and "yoo-hoo" throughout, these humorous presentations will lose readers who hate personifications and comic-book art, but will engage those who find science too dry and perfunctory."Did that mean that this book would be trite and annoying? Would it be too goofy-cut. Perfect Jess This whole series is wonderful!! My daughter loves science, but she's still young enough that she needs engaging pictures, so this series is perfect!! It was tough to find good books for her about the big bang, dawn of life, dinosaurs, etc. without an overtly creationist slant, so these books are truly a godsend (pun intended).

Dialogue balloons, fact boxes, and paragraphs of text share space with several illustrations per page, offering information in bites rather than straight narration. Cartoon fans will fall for these over-the-edge presentations and find themselves understanding the basic concepts
