Not worth the price There are so many good gourd books out there - and this is not one of them. This is a booklet, not a book. The material is very limited, the photography is poor, it's only for extremely thin gourds, and the technique is really hard on your woodburning tools. I wouldn't recommend this book unless you collect every publis. As true for many self-published books, it lacks the focus and design that an editor would bring to a publication. Strength: plenty of color photographs for inspiration. Weaknesses: overall small in size(4x8) and. ilovegourds said Hot Gourds Critique. This book had its interesting parts but was pretty skimpy when it came to explaining how to carve gourds with a woodburner. It should have mentioned that the gourd should be fairly thin skinned and shown more how to pictures. Knowing this now I doubt I would have bought the book.
