As I study the shadows between the falling-down stone, I imagine creeping shapes of undead Faeries grasping the rock, waiting for our ship to draw nearer to their position. I walk slowly to the railing overlooking the water. The cold, moss-covered edifices practically scream their presence. Pulling my dark pea coat tighter to my body, the wind lifts red tendrils of my hair. It bathes away the frigid sweat of fear that has broken on my brow. Wow.I really, really like this one. Just finished it last night. I really, really, really like it. It was so good. I find myself being sucked into each of the characters. I loved that Russell has a "Aspire". He is so torn between being in love with Evie and feeling the pull of Anya as his Aspire, that you can feel his emotions. She did a really good job with Russell's cha. Worth it! JustBrit Trying to type this out without giving anything away has me sitting here bonding with my keyboard. Or unbonding. We might be enemies right now Anyway, I will say there are many new exciting and unexpected twists! More answers on how Evie came to be are given out gradually throughout the book. Of course, with some answers come more quest. "Can't wait to read the next one!" according to SusieQ. In preparation to read the final book in the series I read the first four again For like the third time. I love this series and it really demonstrates the healthy aspects of love and family for those who seek alternatives to what they have.
