JDLowe said Good enhancement reference. I am using this as a reference text, building a lecture series for my HS music appreciation class. It has the right amount of information for a HS level course, but doesn't gloss over important points. Well done.. "Not a good read." according to JLHlovestotravel. This might have been good as a lecture series, but delivered as prose, it's quite poor. The ideas don't flow with the logic commonly seen in non-fiction writing. Compound this with the worst Kindle-preparation of the text I've yet seen, and you have a miserable product. Avoid.
Lewis Rosengarten's Jazz in Short Measures offersa refreshingly succint yet thorough presenation ofthe struggles, styles and achievements in Jazz in a seriesof ten essential lectures. Derived from years of teaching in the classroom and online,Dr. The author'sability to synthesize an enormous amount of materialinto an enjoyable coherent whole is uncanny.. The history of Jazz is recoveredfrom a variety of voices and perspectives providing an exceedingly well-informed overview that would serve asa perfect addition to any study or course
