Only the High Evolutionary understands his true potential, but the Evolutionary's mysterious grand design may cost the Surfer everything and change the cosmic balance forever! He's traded blows with Thor and matched wits with Mephisto - but can the herald of Galactus survive the judgment of Norrin Radd, the man within the Silver Surfer? It's a character-defining epic showing the Silver Surfer as you've never seen him before, brought to you by "Planet Hulk" writer Greg Pak and DARK WOLVERINE artist Stephen Segovia. A new beginning for the Silver Surfer! The Sentinel of the Spaceways walks the Earth once more, a stranger feared by many. Collecting SILVER SURFER (2011) #1-5.

A New Classic Is Born! David Keith Silver Surfer Devolution is a great Silver Surfer story. Silver Surfer stories do not get any better than this! Greg Pak is one of Marvel best scribes. Known for his epic, sophisticated and brilliant run on The Incredible Hulk, Pak once again proves he's a top notch writer. I hope he'll give Surfer a follow up to this book. The art by Segovia is well composed and moves the story along elegantly. Very Recommended.. "The Silver Surfer en Mexico! (and space)" according to kidmarvel. The Story: A bit flawed, but pretty good overall. Confusing at times, but the parts focusing on the Surfer himself hit the nail on the head. Throughout most of the story, his power cosmic has been taken away from him and he is once again Norrin Radd. He rediscovers what it is to be human again (I know he's an alien, but you get what I mean) both psychologically and physically. The supporting characters aren't fleshed out quite enough, but the strengths of the story make up for this. The themes and concepts of the story regarding humanity, responsibility, and man's relationship with nature are fascinating and the climax of the story is . Not Bad The writing here is sort of typical hollywood-esque storytelling. The story did have some innovative sections and ideas to it. Probably the best part of it was the inclusion of the High Evolutionary in a grander role than I've ever seen him in before. The artwork was good. Sort of standard style pencils for 2010's Marvel. The biggest complaint I have about the book is that it was so short. I found the ending to be a little abrupt, which would be fine if the series had continued on. However, this series only ran for 5 issues. So this collects the whole thing. I just found myself really wanting more, a continuation.
