DESCRIPTION:

"Great book. Gorman keeps it simple without omitting" according to craig p. Great book. Gorman keeps it simple without omitting. Sign of a good author.. "Outstanding book" according to Maryland Gentleman. This book is a classic, it takes psychiatric medicine and helps not only the professional but the patient as well to understand the field in great detail, while at the same time keeping it all simplistic. I most strongly recommend this book.. A Customer said a bit outdated. but still the best guide in its field. An EXCELLENT intro to these kinds of drugs - there are very few books which cover this subject comprehensively for the layperson. Most books are either overly technical or too simplified. This book is a nice balance for those who want to know about these new "miracle" drugs with some detail. It's a bit outdated and doesn't contain much information about the newest drug

From Library Journal Much ignorance and many misconceptions exist about psychotropic prescription drugs (antidepressants, tranquilizers, antipsychotics, hypnotics, etc.), since people are often reluctant to ask questions about these drugs, even though they are among the most heavily prescribed. This book is also far more comprehensible than such readily available titles as the Physicians' Desk Reference .- Mary Chitty, Massachusetts Coll. of Pharmacy & Allied Health Sciences, BostonCopyright 1990 Reed Bus
