Typical Poirot mystery - One lose end not tied by Agatha. J. Dias I like Agatha Christie's stories. This one is quite interesting with a lot of surprises and turns. Poirot and Hastings are at their best in investigating a murder.Sometimes one can get a little bit frustrated with Poirot and his interactions with Hastings. Why does he have to keep secrets from him? It seems that the only reason is because Agatha Christie wants to hold on to information to surprise the reader at the end of the book. If Poirot disclosed everything he knew to Hastings as he discovers things a lot of the surprise would be killed. In this book Poirot seems a little. "Stick With It!" according to David Cady. I've recently started reading the Christie mysteries I've missed along the way, including this, her second full-length Poirot. I found it tough going at times, somewhat confusingbut I've rarely been so blown away by the denouement of a whodunit! I can only imagine that this was the book that cemented Christie's reputation after her debut with "The Mysterious Affair At Styles." Sure, the writing is old-fashioned (it was written in the late 20s, after all), but the intricacies of the plot and the way Christie keeps you off-base and guessing until the very end are simply stunnin. Murder on the Links Leah F Quinn Very enjoyable mystery! I guessed at who the antagonist was and I was wrong! The book was really good at keeping the reader guessing
