Not simply because of the storyline, but for the characters as well. When I started this series, I had no idea whom the villians would progress to be. So, needless to say, in this book the actions of certain characters were a little suprising.Guarrand comes back to his hometown after finding out from his younger nephew that a mysterious plauge is decimating the village.
