I started implementing modeled writing before I finished the book and it shocked me at the immediate growth my Kindergarten student showed. The transformation for my students was exciting. I have always struggled at how to teach writing. I always thought that the students disliked writing because it took time and patience. While this is still true (it takes patience and time), I now know that my students disliked writing because they didn't really know how to do it.
