When I found this to be a Holmes vs Dracula story I set it aside thinking it would be commercial tribal at best. However, I eventually read it and was both surprised and delighted. The plot was uninventive, the events predictable, and the overall tone incorrect for a Sherlock Holmes story. You could literally have plucked Holmes and Watson out of the story and inserted any other two main characters and the story would overall have been the same. Very disappointing in total.
