D. Oldham said Sadly, this book is very misleading in its portrayal. Sadly, this book is very misleading in its portrayal of Mormon doctrine and early Utah history. It starts out with a fairly accurate history of some of the persecution of the early Latter Day Saints. And it follows other pioneer historical events, and even quotes from some Church leaders, and uses references to priesthood and other LDS terms, giving the perception of accuracy. But it distorts pio. "Couldn't Put It Down!" according to Christy. Francine Rivers definitely got it right with her endorsement that's printed on the front of this book: "Prepare to burn the midnight oil." Just so you know.she was not kidding. I was awake past midnight the past 2 nights reading this fabulous book. :o) Even though I am a Christian, I am intrigued by the Mormon culture, and occasionally like to read something that gives me a better understanding o. Complex characters combined with historical accuracy Debbie "The Veil" is a very well-written Christian historical novel with some romantic elements.
